
In 2026, Marcus, a passionate kayaker and drummer and former member of the NYC Blue Man Group, became a "Sea-Kayak Leader" (British Canoeing Awarding Body) and "Aktivitesleder Hav" (Norwegian Paddleforbund), both are professional sea-kayak guide certifications.
As an expedition sea-kayaker, Marcus became the first kayaker to ever successfully circumnavigate the Falkland Islands, a trip of over 680 Miles in 22 days (trip stats).
Marcus circumnavigated Ireland in 42 days, and Great Britain in 80 days, at the time the new record for a UK solo circumnavigation (article by Joe Glickman).
Other expeditions brought Marcus to Tierra Del Fuego (article World’s First attempt to circumnavigate Tierra Del Fuego), Iceland, Australia, Patagonia, Norway, Canada, the East and West coast of the US, etc.
After the UK circumnavigation, Marcus extended his stay in the UK to obtain a Masters in Physical Oceanography at the University of Bangor, Wales.
In 2025, Marcus became a member of the "Working Group on Marine Litter" of the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES), an intergovernmental marine-science organization based in Copenhagen.
Marcus came in first place in his class in all NYC Mayors Cup races, first in his class at the NY Hudson Highlands Greenway Triathlon, and won the 1st prize in the The North Face Polarguard Adventure Contest.
Marcus was the general manager of Manhattan Kayak Company, overseeing more than 100 paddling classes and tours a month, leading classes and managing the boathouse storage-facility for 120 kayaks.
Marcus gives presentations about his expeditions at kayak symposiums, kayak clubs and corporate functions around the world.
