Sea-kayak tours, guiding and coaching in Norway, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Germany.

I was guiding since 2008 for Manhattan Kayak Co., but only now (2026) became a Sea Kayak Leader (BCU) and Aktivitetsleder Hav (Norges Paddleforbund).

One-day and multi-day trips, small to large groups, bespoke one-to-one coaching, training and awards for the Norwegian qualifications, preparing for expeditions overseas ... and just plainly enjoying being out there on the water.

Together we will build on your skills, confidence and enthusiasm of this fantastic sport in this amazing, tiny boat.

Sea-Fever is a term as created by John Masefield in a 1885 poem for describing his passion for the sea. John was a trained merchant seaman, and later became a poet who was appointed a British poet laureate in 1930.

Feel free to contact me if you are in need for a BCU and Norges Paddleforbund guide anywhere in Europe.

Sea-Fever

by John Masefield

I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,

And all I ask is a sea-kayak and a star to steer her by;

And the bow's spray and the wind’s song and the paddle splashing,

And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking.

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide

Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;

And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,

And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,

To the gull’s way and the whale’s way where the wind’s like a whetted knife;

And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,

And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over.
